This free festival is open to the public and is a celebration of Family Promise reaching a milestone of serving 100 homeless families. Ferry Fest is back during a cooler month and with a twist…it will begin with an Adventure Quest in Ft. George Island. Up to 100 teams will be shuttled into position for timed challenges (mostly mental), with the top finalists in each category competing in trivia live from the Ferry Fest stage, where bands and performances will be scheduled throughout the day, with support from food trucks, arts & crafts vendors, a kids play area and more!

Volunteers for Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library are getting ready for another Book Warehouse Sale. The $10 bag deal lets you fill a grocery bag for only $10. It’s a very popular feature of FJPL sales. The October sale offers more bags than ever.
Customers can choose from an inventory of more than 200,000 fiction and non-fiction books, all sorted into categories to make shopping easier. The sale will also include a big selection of paperback books, CDs and DVDs.
Friday -Oct 9, 2015 – 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. FJPL Members Night. Purchase 1 grocery bag of items for $10 and get a second bag FREE. Members night is open to existing members of FJPL and any shoppers who wish to join as a member at the door. Customers can purchase either a $5 membership expiring Dec 31, 2015 or a $12 membership expiring Dec 31, 2016.
