Clay Hand Building Class @ Murray Hill Art Center

This is a 6 week class where we will explore the aspects of creating with clay off the wheel. You’ll become very comfortable working with coils, pinch pots and slabs.  You will learn to use underglazes to decorate your pieces.  Instructor provides guidance for all levels of experience with special attention to newcomers.  Experienced potters may pursue independent projects.

Please wear comfortable cotton clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.  You may want to bring an apron to wear and please leave your fine jewelry at home.

Community Bible Study (CBS) is an interdenominational study open to all believers and seekers. Our mission is “to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth bible study, available to all.”

This year our 30-week study will be on Corinthians 1 and 2. We offer women’s, men’s, teen’s and children’s classes. Our children’s program is a structured bible study using age appropriate materials for each age. Newborns to teens are welcomed.

Registration fee is $35 for adults and $10 for each child. Fee includes all materials for class. Scholarships are available.

3rd Annual See the Girl Summit @ Jessie Ball duPont Center

What: The third annual See the Girl Summit will be a thought provoking two-day conference where national thought leaders, subject matter experts and participants will address the needs of Florida’s girls and young women through a girl-centered, trauma-informed framework. Featured workshop tracks include Girl-Centered Values in Action, Research and Advocacy. CEUs will be available for professionals.

Who: The See the Girl Summit is geared towards healthcare and service providers, educators, students, therapists, social workers, legal professionals, juvenile justice and child protection professionals, advocates, survivors, concerned citizens and anyone interested in championing the rights of girls.

Speakers include Dr. Amy Banks, Director of Advanced Training and Senior Research Scientist at The Jean Baker Miller Training Institute and the Wellesley Centers for Women, Russel Funk, Executive Director of MensWork, working to engage and mobilize men to end violence against women, and Dr. Barbara Guthrie, Professor and Director of PhD program at Northeastern University School of Nursing. $mart Women Make Change @ Florida Blue Conference Center

Junior Achievement of North Florida hosts $mart Women Make Change. Guest speaker will be Sonia Manzano, “Maria” on Sesame Street and one of the most influential Latinas in television. She is an award-winning television writer and children’s book author.
