Everyone is welcome to attend the Community Bible Study Ortega/Jacksonville on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 – 11:30 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. This year’s 30 week study will be “From the Red Sea to the Jordan River” and will begin on September 5th. No matter what your age, denomination or Bible knowledge – we have a place for you. Men, women and children are encouraged to come. Our children’s program offers classes with trained loving teachers with age appropriate curriculum from nursery through high school. The Marine Science Research Institute at Jacksonville University welcomes Titanic discoverer Dr. Robert D. Ballard Tuesday, Oct. 10, to kick off its annual Marine Science Pioneer Lecture Series. The event is in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville.
Ballard will spend an hour with JU students at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 10 at the MSRI, where he will discuss how he has turned his dreams into reality by taking risks and learning how to face failure and turn it into success. After an 11:30 a.m. reception in the Davis College of Business lobby, he will speak on “Deep Sea Exploration: Past, Present and Future” at a noon luncheon in the DCOB conference rooms. He will take questions from the audience afterward.
