Starting Saturday, 9/29 the front lawn of Jacksonville’s Southside United Methodist Church (SUMC), AKA “The Point”’ will be covered with pumpkins. The patch officially opens on Monday, 10/1 and continues through 10/31. It is open weekdays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 am to 8:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
All proceeds support The Point Youth ministries including, H.A.P.I. (Hendricks Avenue Partnership Initiative), Madison Youth Ranch, Mission2Guatemala, and so much more. Youth earn $ toward their youth accounts to pay for mission trips and retreats throughout the year.

Princess Simpson Rashid is currently a resident artist of CoRK Arts District (CoRK) in Riverside. She has previously served as Studio Director and President of the Art Center Cooperative (TAC) in Jacksonville, FL; Studio Director of the Ybor Art Colony (YAC), Curator of the Ybor Artists Association (YAA), and Co-Gallery Director of the Wandering Eye Gallery (WEG) in Ybor City-Tampa. Her museum and public collections include The Museum of Science and History (MOSH); The Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, KS; the Lake Eustis Museum of Art in Eustis, FL; Baptist Hospital-North and Baptist/MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Who should Attend? People 60 years and up with chronic pain.
Pain is defined as being chronic or long term when it lasts for longer than three to six months, or beyond the normal healing time of an injury.
Participants of this FREE program also receive: the “Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Pain Book,” that includes the Moving Easy Program CD.
Classes meet once a week for six weeks and are meant to enhance, not replace existing programs and treatments.
Join us and learn: techniques to deal with problems such as fatigue, frustration, isolation, and poor sleep. How to evaluate new treatments, communicate effectively with health professionals, family, and friends. Appropriate use of medications and exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance. Pacing activity and rest and healthy eating tips to improve pain management.
