Children ages 3 -12 are invited to bake Hamantashen from scratch just in time for the holiday of Purim! Hamantashen are a three-cornered cookie filled with jam, traditionally eaten on Jewish holiday of Purim.
Participants will enjoy a hands on experience with special shaping techniques taught and an array of delicious fillings to choose from. So put on your apron take out your rolling pin and be prepared to make the most delicious Hamantashen you’ve ever tasted! Learn the history of the Hamantash and take home your very own!
The event will take place on March 17 at 1 p.m. in Riverside. Address provided upon RSVP.

The program will feature Les Roettges on flute, Eric Olson on oboe, Patrick Graham on clarinet, Kate Caliendo on French horn, and guest performer Amanda Swain on bassoon.
Works by Giuseppe Maria Cambini, Irving Fine, and Anton Reicha will be featured showing the full range of your favorite woodwind instruments.

Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of Monroe and Laura Streets.
