Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of Monroe and Laura Streets. Our route will change daily, and we will visit a variety of Jacksonville landmarks during this fun, free, twice-weekly event. For more information, email [email protected]

Armstrong Farms is hosting an Herbal Tea Workshop at the Cummer Museum. Participants will learn about easy-to-grow and easy-to-brew herbal teas and will make five to seven different herbal teas to sample and discuss. One-on-one assistance with downloadable media, email, the Internet, online applications, and basic technology instruction. This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.
Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.

All works of art created at the event are available for sale – with proceeds benefiting the participating artists and the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens. Admission is free, with donations to the arboretum encouraged. Visitors can stroll along the trails to watch and interact with participating artists as they work. The event schedule is as follows:
