Please join us for this introductory class that will cover the first 17 moves and explore other health benefits of Taoist Tai Chi. Often referred to as “moving meditation,”the Taoist Tai Chi Society® internal arts incorporates stretching and turning in a sequence of 108 movements to reduce tension, improve circulation and balance, and increase strength and flexibility. Game On! Table Games from the Philippines @ San Marco Library

In celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month, San Marco Library is offering a program titled “Game On! – Table Games from the Philippines.” In this program you will be exploring cultural gifts from the island nation of the Philippines, as well as learn how to play a three-in-a-row game similar to tic-tac-toe called Tapatan and a mancala game called Sungka. This program is for teens ages 13-18.

All programs are free and open to the public.

Hemming Park Walking Club Kick-off @ Hemming Park

Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of  Monroe and Laura Streets. Pastel Drawing Class @ Murray Hill Art Class

This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.

Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.
