This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.
Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.

Festivities begin Thursday, May 16, with the Lads and Lasses tournament. The VIP and Friends bass tournament takes place on Friday, May 17.
Late registration for the main event begins at 3 am Saturday, May 18, at the Palatka City Docks. Boats will begin launching around 6:15 am in flights of 50. The drawing for a rigged, 21-foot-10-inch Bullet Boat Model 21XRS with a Mercury 250 Pro XS motor and trailer, valued at $65,000, will take place following weigh-in Saturday evening.

This is NOT your ordinary, everyday 5k! Get ready for 3 miles and 30 obstacles set in a classic North Florida landscape! Your abilities will be put to the test as you encounter fields, swamps, streams, and hardwood forests peppered with fun and exciting obstacles. Experience a fun yet demanding course right here within the Jacksonville city limits! Swamp Battle is open to, and fun for, ALL fitness levels. Groups are encouraged to sign up as a team; this is an excellent team building opportunity.
Native grassroots expert, Delores Goslin, will present a Monarch Butterfly Program.
She will explain what she’s learned on her journey into the world of the monarch butterfly, the importance of planting milkweed, the dangers of pesticides and much more. Visitors will learn what actions they can take as a community to help. Goslin will bring monarch butterflies and the caterpillars in various stages to demonstrate.
The Butterfly Release will follow Goslin’s talk. Native species will be available for participants to release. There will also be an exhibit on gardening for pollinators focusing on the plants butterflies and bees need with give-away seeds and plants.

Christianna Alexander, teen CEO of the plant-based skincare line, Sweet Christi’s, will launch a new product line during the grand opening of her new soap studio. Thirteen year old Jacksonville native, Christianna, has been in the soap and skincare business for a year. After showing that she could make enough money to sustain her very own studio, Christianna has decided to take her business to the next level with the encouragement and support of her parents, Christopher and Hilda Alexander.
