Fishweir students enjoy unusual concert

Thanks to a grant from Linda McLucas Fisher and Michael Medill Fisher, the fifth grade class at arts magnet Fishweir Elementary School enjoyed a Friday Musicale presentation last month by Moroccan-born musician Charles Ohayon. He played the oud – or lute – while singing a selection of songs in French, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish and Greek. Following his concert, the very attentive 50+ students asked some insightful questions and gave Ohayon a rousing round of applause.
