To celebrate American Heart Month, the Westside Senior Enrichment Council will be hosting a free, community heart health fair for all seniors in the community on Tuesday, February 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. Heart healthy vendors along with free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings will be offered.
In addition, heart wellness presentations will be given on nutrition, mental health and fitness. A VA representative will be on site from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Red Event Raffle: Attendees wearing red to the event will be entered in a raffle to win prizes.
Meditation 101 with Jickie Yocum, This guided meditation is suitable for all skill levels but is aimed towards teaching people new to meditation. This group will meet to meditate on inner peace and love and converse about their experiences. Intuition Ale Works will host a Pint Night on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida’s (EFOF) outreach program, “Heads Up for Epilepsy.”
The free event will feature a Beer Basket Giveaway donated by European Street Café and a food truck. The first 20 people to enter will receive a one of a kind, limited edition pint glass, provided by Renaissance Pools & Spas. Intuition Ale Works will donate $1 of each pint sold from the events proceeds to the EFOF.
