If you want to know how to get started in silk painting, you are in the right place!
Even if you can’t draw or paint you can create a beautiful silk scarf.
The basic traditional silk painting uses a resist to outline a design of your choice on the silk and it is then filled in with paint or dye. Despite being so simple sounding there are lots of variations and additional techniques to add texture and dimension to your work.
We provide some design examples to get you started that can easily be traced on to the scarf.
We also encourage students to bring some design ideas themselves. Simple black and white line images work best for tracing.
Students will bring home with them a beautiful 72 inch silk scarf.that can be worn or used as a wall hanging. These scarves make great couture gifts.
Community Bible Study (CBS) is an interdenominational study open to all believers and seekers. Our mission is “to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ in our communities through caring, in-depth bible study, available to all.”
