St. John’s Cathedral welcomes #1 New York Times bestselling author of “To Heaven and Back,” Dr. Mary C. Neal, as the Cathedral’s third guest in the Cerveny Speakers Series. Dr. Neal will be the guest preacher for the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services at the Cathedral on Sunday, November 18, during which she will share her remarkable faith journey.
Dr. Neal will speak between services at the Dean’s Forum at 10 a.m. as well. In addition, Dr. Neal will hold a book signing during coffee hour following the 11 a.m. service. Copies of “7 Lessons from Heaven” and “To Heaven and Back” will be available for purchase through the Cathedral Bookstore. The services and coffee hour are free and open to the public.
Dr. Mary Neal is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon who drowned while kayaking on a South American river. She experienced life after death. She went to heaven and back, conversed with Jesus and experienced God’s encompassing love. She was returned to Earth with some specific instructions for work she still needed to do. Her life has been one filled with the miracles and intervention of God. Her story gives reason to live by faith and is a story of hope.
Who should Attend? People 60 years and up with chronic pain.
Pain is defined as being chronic or long term when it lasts for longer than three to six months, or beyond the normal healing time of an injury.
Participants of this FREE program also receive: the “Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Pain Book,” that includes the Moving Easy Program CD.
Classes meet once a week for six weeks and are meant to enhance, not replace existing programs and treatments.
Join us and learn: techniques to deal with problems such as fatigue, frustration, isolation, and poor sleep. How to evaluate new treatments, communicate effectively with health professionals, family, and friends. Appropriate use of medications and exercise for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance. Pacing activity and rest and healthy eating tips to improve pain management.
