Join the Museum every Tuesday and Thursday for a guided tour of the historic Cummer Gardens, beginning in the Museum lobby.

Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of  Monroe and Laura Streets. Our route will change daily, and we will visit a variety of Jacksonville landmarks during this fun, free, twice-weekly event. For more information, email [email protected]

Free and open to the public, the event will cover screen time recommendations, the impact of social media and screen time on sleep, stress, behavior, and physical health, as well as the dangers of comparison via social media, gaming, and internet addiction. Resources and tips for parents regarding screen time and social media will be offered.

True Stories meets on the first Thursday of every month to discuss a nonfiction book selection.  At February’s meeting come prepared to discuss your favorite nonfiction reads and recommend books for future meetings.

This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.

Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.
