The library will be holding a Science Fair help session where the staff will guide students through the entire project process, as well as perform a fun, sample experiment! This is an awesome opportunity for school age students to learn tips about where to find information within the library’s databases and how to conduct research for their project.

The San Marco Adult Book Club’s latest meeting will be focusing on the subject of banned books in honor of Banned Book Week. The club will specifically be discussing the book The Color Purple by Alice Walker, and will also be viewing the 1985 movie adaptation. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m., but space is limited so be sure to sign up ahead of time!
The Jax Harmony Chorus, a Sweet Adelines group, rehearses every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Open houses are held every 4th Tuesday but you are welcome any time! As a member of the chorus, you will belong to a worldwide family of friends who value the joy of singing chord-ringing, fun-filled harmony.
To celebrate Banned Book Week the library will hold a Banned Book Cook-a-Book for kids and tweens! Banned books will be discussed and a tasty treat that correlates with the books will be prepared. Bring your favorite banned book and an appetite for both food and reading!
