San Marco Branch Library and the Jacksonville Department of Animal Care and Protective Services are offering a program that includes an author talk and book signing, as well as a pet adoption. Too Licky is a story about two sisters’ journey to find the “just right” rescue dog for their family. Gigi and Ryan, the young authors of the book, searched high and low to find the right dog. After months of searching they found Sugar.
The event is free and open to the public, as the community is invited to celebrate the season with Virginia College. The event will feature refreshments, face painting, a costume contest, music, trick-or-treating, a bounce house, pumpkin decorating, popcorn, cotton candy, cookie decorating, campus tours and program demonstrations. All attendees can enter to win prize giveaways such as Amazon gift cards.
Everyone loves a scary story! Join us as we work together to create the scariest of ideas into the most haunting of stories.
The Haunted Brewery will include a zombie apocalypse interactive experience throughout the brewery, produced by Jacksonville Haunts. The experience will resemble laser tag, but the goal will be to shoot the zombies who have taken over the brewery. A team of 10 players will go through the zombie apocalypse every three minutes. The Haunted Brewery festivities will include an art exhibit, food trucks, live music, zombie paintball shooting outside of the brewery and more.
Come out and play board games at the library! Bring your own games or play games provided by the library. Bring your own friends or make new ones today!
