Join the Museum every Tuesday and Thursday for a guided tour of the historic Cummer Gardens, beginning in the Museum lobby.

Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of  Monroe and Laura Streets. Our route will change daily, and we will visit a variety of Jacksonville landmarks during this fun, free, twice-weekly event. For more information, email [email protected]

Girl Troop 465 (Psalm 46:5 “God is within her, she shall not fail”), the only BSA Troop in the area for females over the age of 11, will start at Ortega United Methodist Church on Monday, February 4, 2019, 7-8:30 p.m.  Sign-up night is at OUMC Fellowship Hall on January 22.

The Jax Harmony Chorus, a Sweet Adelines group, rehearses every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Open houses are held every 4th Tuesday but you are welcome any time! As a member of the chorus, you will belong to a worldwide family of friends who value the joy of singing chord-ringing, fun-filled harmony.

Help us celebrate the 153rd birthday of Jacksonville’s most historic public space. Join us in the park to talk about upcoming events and enjoy complimentary birthday cake (while supplies last!) with live music by Lauren Fincham and food truck fare from Pinegrove Deli and Latin Soul Grille.

Students can take part in the SAT/ACT workshop Jan. 23, 3 – 4 p.m., to gain study tips and other strategies to help prepare for these challenging tests. Most students will end up taking a test at some time, so it’s a good idea to start preparing for them now. This program is intended for teens ages 12 to 18.
