Tap into Tapas Tuesday sponsored by VyStar Credit Union at the Cummer Café. Every Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on the Cummer Café patio, take in the sunset while listening to local musicians with beer, wine, or artfully inspired tapas for sale at the Café. The Jax Harmony Chorus, a Sweet Adelines group, rehearses every Tuesday at 7 p.m. Open houses are held every 4th Tuesday but you are welcome any time! As a member of the chorus, you will belong to a worldwide family of friends who value the joy of singing chord-ringing, fun-filled harmony.

This program is for children birth to 5 years with an adult caregiver. The program includes stories, books, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and songs that promote language development, vocabulary building and comprehension. Arts & Crafts or Open Play following program. Early literacy toys ranging from building blocks to dinosaurs will be made available. Caregivers must stay with children at all times.

Take a break from the summer heat and join library staffers as we read out loud for 15 minutes every day! We’ll read our favorite books to you, and you might even decide to check out a copy of the title for yourself.

Join the Museum every Tuesday and Thursday for a guided tour of the historic Cummer Gardens, beginning in the Museum lobby.

Beginning Thursday, January 10th, join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a fast-paced 30-minute walk in downtown Jacksonville, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We will meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture in Hemming Park at the corner of  Monroe and Laura Streets. Our route will change daily, and we will visit a variety of Jacksonville landmarks during this fun, free, twice-weekly event. For more information, email [email protected]

5, 4, 3, 2, 1…Blast off! to My Space Adventure. Over the next six weeks, we will explore a universe of fun art projects. It will be out of this world for kids ages 5-12. Space is limited.

Superheroes unite! Join us as we delve into the universes of Marvel and DC! We will discuss heroes and villains, create fandom crafts, and have super snacks. No capes required. This program is for teens ages 13-17.
