Friends of the Murray Hill Library Annual Meeting and Silent Auction will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Maple Street Biscuit Company, 1171 Edgewood Avenue S., in Murray Hill. Social hour and the Silent Auction will start at 6:00 P.M. with a large collection of educational “Great Courses” available for bidding. The Annual Meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. Local architect Peyman AtaAbadi will be present to discuss beautification efforts at the library and on Edgewood Avenue. Refreshments provided. Explore the aspects of creating with clay off the wheel. You’ll become very comfortable working with coils, pinch pots and slabs. You will learn to use underglazes for decoration Instructor provides guidance for all levels of experience with special attention to newcomers. Experienced potters may pursue independent projects.
Please wear comfortable cotton clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. You may want to bring an apron to wear and please leave your fine jewelry at home.

This program is for children birth to 5 years with an adult caregiver. The program includes stories, books, fingerplays, nursery rhymes, and songs that promote language development, vocabulary building, and comprehension.
Meet at the Willowbranch Library and walk one block to the Riverside Avondale Community Garden, where District 14 Councilman Jim Love will read to the children.
This is an ongoing class that meets every Friday for all artists levels. The class will focus on pastels, materials and techniques.
Students will work from a live model and still life setups on a rotating basis using various types of soft pastels and supports. Check our website for the recommended supply list.
