The Salvation Army will hold its second annual Red Shield Ball, which raises funds for the Red Shield Lodge women and families shelter. The shelter, located at 900 West Adams Street in downtown Jacksonville, houses an average of 147 families every year, and in 2014 alone the shelter housed 407 children. The gala-style fundraiser includes dinner, a live band and dancing, and live and silent auctions.
