The children’s choirs of Ortega United Methodist Church will present the children’s Easter musical, Happy Day, on Wednesday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. This musical, under the direction of Children’s Choir Coordinator, Gwen Smith, tells of the joy of Easter and the resurrection of our Lord. Happy Day will be presented in the Fellowship Hall in the setting of a Dinner Theatre. Serving of the meal will begin at 5:45 p.m.
Riverside Park United Methodist Church, 819 Park Street, will host a Community Crime Prevention Meeting, presented by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. in their Fellowship Hall. The session will include strategies for personal safety and residential security. All are welcome.

The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) is hosting a “Pot O’ Gold” promotion in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Adopters are invited to select a coin from the golden pot to determine the price they will pay for an adopted pet, ranging from $0-50. The special will run from Thursday, March 17th to Sunday, March 20th. “St. Patrick’s Day is a marvelous time to adopt,” said Denise Deisler, Executive Director of JHS. “Dogs and cats give us unconditional love, and you can’t get luckier than that.” |
All pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. The shelter will be open during normal hours: Monday – Friday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. JHS is located at 8464 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
