Professional Security Personnel Hiring Event @ Allied Universal

Allied Universal is hiring and training new security officers, account managers, supervisors and dispatchers. Qualified candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Be at least 18 years old (21 years old for positions that require driving)
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation and pre-employment drug/alcohol test
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Possess intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client sites

Have you ever heard a balloon scream? Want to race marbles down a slope? Come learn about the forces of motions with these and other fun science experiments. Ages 5-12.
Basic Handbuilding (Clay) @ Murray Hill Art Center

Explore the aspects of creating with clay off the wheel. You’ll become very comfortable working with coils, pinch pots and slabs.  You will learn to use underglazes for decoration  Instructor provides guidance for all levels of experience with special attention to newcomers.  Experienced potters may pursue independent projects.

Please wear comfortable cotton clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.  You may want to bring an apron to wear and please leave your fine jewelry at home.

JTA Public Meeting on Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center @ FSCJ Downtown Campus, Room A1058

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority will be hosting a public meeting on the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center (JRTC), a regional multi-modal transportation facility. The JRTC  will be located in the heart of the LaVilla area. The state-of-the-art complex will integrate key local, regional and intercity services in one location. Please join JTA to hear more about this iconic facility. The purpose is to update the businesses and residents in the area and anyone else that is interested.  They will also get a chance to meet the designers and contractor.
